SPRINT CAR HALL OF FAME, MIDGET HALL
OF FAME
For Immediate Release
December 12, 2001
FISHERS, Indiana – “American Scene,” the long-awaited
collection of Dave Argabright columns and short
stories, will benefit two notable auto racing
non-profit organizations, author Dave Argabright
announced on December 12.
A
portion of the proceeds from the book will be donated
to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum in
Knoxville, Iowa; and the National Midget Auto Racing
Hall of Fame, based in Indiana.
“Sprint car and midget racing means a lot to me, and
this is a way to give something back,” said
Argabright, a veteran columnist with National Speed
Sport News. “The people at both organizations work
very hard to further their respective sport, so I feel
good to be in a position to support them.”
“We’re
delighted that Dave would use American Scene to
benefit the Hall of Fame and Museum,” said Tom Schmeh,
NSCHoF Executive Director. “As we move into our second
decade of service to the sport, this is the kind of
program that will help us continue to grow and
expand.”
American Scene is a hardbound, 356-page book
containing selected columns and feature stories penned
by Argabright from 1988 to 1997. The book features a
foreword by Chris Economaki and additional commentary
from Bob Jenkins. American Scene is published by
Witness Productions of Marshall, Indiana.
Argabright’s columns and feature stories have earned
him numerous industry awards, including an
unprecedented five Media Member of the Year awards
from the National Sprint Car Poll. His popular style
focuses on the people and emotions of the sport, and
today he enjoys a strong following of readers.
